KAMPUNG LAUT MOSQUE ( Kelantan, Malaysia )

Kampung Laut Mosque currently located at Nilam Puri wasn't the original location of the mosque. It was originally built in Kampung Laut hence its name by the Kelantan river bank. Unfortunately, it was hit by a second big flood that occur in the year 1967, the flood damaged most part of the mosque, which is then relocated to Nilam Puri. Most of the building materials are from the original structure. Traditional architecture, and climate-appropriate, similar to local houses in the area. This mosque can fixed about 400 people at one-time.  As for the history.


HISTORY OF KAMPUNG LAUT MOSQUE

This mosque was belief are built by a Javanese Royal family who came to sailed near Kelantan. During the sailing, the bottom of the ship leaked and the son vowed to build a mosque if they safely arrived to land and later on they had landed and they built a mosque. Surprisingly when they return home to Java, they built another mosque, Demak Great Mosque. The mosque was once the meeting venue for Sultan's meeting and was also used as a trader point sometime later.

TRANQUERAH MOSQUE ( Malacca, Malaysia )

The mosque was built during reign of the Netherlands. The mosque is the second oldest mosque in Malaysia after Kampung Hulu Mosque, also in Malacca. Next to the mosque is the tomb of Sultan Hussain Shah, the person who responsible for giving away Singapore to Sir Stamford Raffles in 1819. The mosque originally structure was made entirely of timber bought from Kalimantan, Dutch East India Company. The mosque architecture is a mix of Javanese, Chinese and Malay culture component.









ZAHIR MOSQUE ( Kedah, Malaysia )

The Zahir Mosque is located at the heart of Alor Star, Kedah, Malaysia. Zahir Mosque is one of the grandest and the oldest mosque in Malaysia. Zahir Mosque was built on 22 rabiulawal 1330 ( 11 March 1912 ) andthe mosque was officially declared open by the late Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah on Friday 6 zulhijjah 1333 hijrah ( 15 October 1915 ). The site of Zahir Mosque is the cemetery of the Kedah warriors who died while defending Kedah from Siam (1812)

CRYSTAL MOSQUE ( Terengganu, Malaysia )

The Crystal Mosque is a mosque in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia. The mosque located at Islamic Heritage Park on the island of Wan Man. Crystal Mosque is a mosque which is very popular with the uniqueness of the mosque because it in lightly coat of steel, glass and crystal that used as the main ingredient in the development. the mosque constructed between 2006 to 2008 and officially opened on 8 February 2008. The architectural style of this mosques is based on Chinese architecture, Contemporary architecture and Islamic architecture. The mosque architect is Kamarul Baharin. The facilities provide at the mosque are: fully air conditioned, equipped with modern amenities and WiFi coverage  which allows visitors to use internet access for reading the electronic Quran.

TUANKU MIZAN ZAINAL ABIDIN MOSQUE ( Putrajaya, Malaysia )

The Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque or known as "Iron Mosque" is the second main mosque in Putrajaya after Putera Mosque. The mosque is officially opened on Friday at the eve of Ramadhan by the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin ( 11 June 2010 ). Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque can fixed approximately 20,000 of people at a time. The architectural of this mosque is the mix of Islamic architecture and Modern architecture. This mosque is features a district cooling system, known as "gas district cooling", so there were no fans and air conditioning system.

NIUJIE MOSQUE ( Beijing, China )

The Niujie Mosque is the oldest mosque and the largest mosque in Beijing, China. The mosque is located in Niujie area of Beijing in Xuanwu district. It takes about 30 minutes from the capital of Beijing. Niujie Mosque covers 6000 square meters, included several area such as prayer hall, six cornered moon observation tower and two pavilion and can fixed about 1000 of people at a time. The design of the mosque is the mix of Chinese architecture and Arabic architecture. Non-muslim visitors is strictly cannot enter the prayer hall.


HISTORY OF NIUJIE MOSQUE

The Niujie Mosque was built during Liao Dynasty in 996 and after Qing Dynasty take over the empire from Liao Dynasty. Niujie Mosque was constructed as well as enlarged under the Kangxi Emperor. The mosque is constructed by local Muslim Community. Nazaruddin is the originally who designed the mosque. Nazaruddin is the son of an imam at that time. His father immigrate from Arab to China. The actual name of Niujie Mosque is "Libasi", it was given by Chenghua Emperior. However, since it is located in Oxen Street, so the people simply called it as Niujie.










GREAT MOSQUE OF DJENNE ( Mali )

The Great Mosque of Djenné, is a large banco or mud building that is considered by many architects to be one of the greatest achievements of the Sudano-Sahelian architectural style. It was fully built in the 1907.



HISTORY

The actual date of construction of the mosque in Djenné is dated as early as 1200 and as late as 1330. Sultan Kunburu became a Muslim and had his palace pulled down and the site turned into a mosque. He built another palace for himself near the mosque on the east side. His immediate successor built the towers of the mosque while the following Sultan built the surrounding wall. There is no other written information on the Great Mosque until the French explorer René Caillié visited Djenné in 1828 and wrote , "In Jenné is a mosque built of earth, surmounted by two massive but not high towers; it is rudely constructed, though very large. It is abandoned to thousands of swallows, which build their nests in it. This occasions a very disagreeable smell, to avoid which, the custom of saying prayers in a small outer court has become common.” So, Ten years before René Caillié's visit, the Fulani leader Seku Amadu had launched his jihad and conquered the town. Seku Amadu appears to have disapproved of the existing mosque and allowed it to fall into despair. This would have been the building that Caillié saw. In 1893, France capture Djenne. They ruined the mosque and the area became cemetery. In 1906, the French administration arranged for the original mosque to rebuilt. This mosque can hold up to 5000 people.

QOLSARIF MOSQUE ( Russia )

The Qolsarif Mosque is located in Kazan Kremlin, Russia. Qolsarif Mosque is the symbol of city and the most largest mosque in Europe. The mosque was designed by Iskandar Foeadovitsi Sayfoellin, Ayyar Sattrarov, Mikhail Safronov and Shamil Latypov. The architecture of the mosque is the mix of Renaissance architecture and Ottoman architecture. The Qolsarif Mosque can fixed about 6000 people at a time and it have two pavilion, library, publishing house and imam house.

HISTORY OF QOLSARIF MOSQUE

The name of the mosque is from Qol-sarif, the teacher as well as the person who defend the Kazan from Russian forces in 1552. The mosque were totally destroyed and was rebuilt and officially opened in 24 July 2005 with a help from United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and other Islam Countries.







BLUE MOSQUE ( Afghanistan )

Blue Mosque is located at the heart of Mazari Sharif at Afghanistan. Mazari Sharif means "Noble Shrine" or "Tomb of the Exalted" which means the large. The mosque actually was destroyed by Genghis Khan and were rebuilt in the 15th century by Hussain Baiqara. The Blue Mosque has lots of tiles that looks like they were painted, but the patterns are actually were made from different shapes of tiles cut and were plastered together. The whole mosque is covered with polychrome tiles and dominating color is blue with different shading.

HISTORY

Many Afghanistan-ian believe that the site of Blue Mosque is where one of the most important person in the history of Islam, Ali bin Abi Talib were buried. But some consider that it is a grave of Zoroaster (Zorro)









SHEIKH ZAYED MOSQUE ( United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi )

The Sheikh Zayed Mosque was built as a monument to consolidate Islamic culture and a prominent center for Islamic Science. The mosque is made from marble stone, gold, semi-precious stones, crystal and ceramics.  Sheikh Zayed Mosque was initiated by the late president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highest Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Approximately 38 contacting companies helped in realising the complex over a period of almost 12 years
